I have been secretly pulling $500-$700 per month out of Empowerism for a couple of years now.
I never talk about MLM to people because my market hates it. But since you asked...
They have great metrics on the backend and you get to track everything that's going on. I have Ewen Chia in my downline and the boy is bringing in like 100 people a month or more.
I got 9 new member notifications today alone.
Great lead program that I am using to increase my list size as well.
If only I personally worked harder at it, who knows how big it would get. I've never had the bottom of a matrix start to fill out with people before and I've belonged to a lot of these things in the past decade.
This is the only one that people stick with month after month without me having to backfill.
And I do ZERO promotion of it. Get a few killers under you and you really just have to check in each month and request payment.
Be active and I'm sure you could do 10 times better than me.

Great topic and I'd love to see what others say about this!
I've been involved in internet AND network / MLM for over a decade, and finding a good online friendly MLM with GOOD back office tracking has been like finding hen's teeth.
Even now, I'm very pleased to have my hands in a great MLM company as part of my internet marketing portfolio. BUT alas, the company website is sorely lacking in tracking. So we ended up using a company to create a new "front end" where we have SOME tracking (but not as good as some other stat packages that we "web folks" are used to!) BUT it works and we're able to do SOME tracking.
PS - I'm using your 30 Minute Backlinks for my company promotion and it's working
PSS - I'm ANXIOUSLY awaiting your case study on 30 Minute Backlinks too.
PSSS - I'm using it for other niches I'm working in too!

I have been avoiding MLM for years like the plague, until just recently. In the past, when I did pursue MLM, I mostly got caught up in the "BIG money-free time" hype. You know the pitch. But there was usually little to no concern for the product.
Until now...I was introduced to a program with a product/concept that can really benefit the user. In other words, this is a product that I would use even if there were no pay-plan attached to it.
And to my surprise, the back-office of the replicated website has an ad tracking system. The program cost is remarkably affordable.

Well I am in an MLM called 4Life, I have not been able to say much, as if you just join, how can you say you make money ? There is ability to track people in this, even to see how far they have read into what you provide them.It seems like any activity you can generate is well paid.I just do not know if my higher self allows me to carry on like this.I feel a bit better now if I find someone to join, but I mainly like just selling the product.I guess someone has to sign any new wannabe distributor up.

For me, MLM is same with people..there are some who are good and also some that are bad..^^
What's important is we know how to identify which is which.
So I suggest before you jump into any MLM ventures..make sure first to read Multi Level Marketing Review.

I was an affiliate marketer before I got into network marketing and the only reason I did was because of my obsession with web 2.0 and where it was going. I got into a company that is based on video marketing and have been able to take it full time. I'm a single mom, so that's great for me. (Sorry, I messed up the link the 1st time)

I was one of those people that had my fair share of the "creepy factor" at the mere mention of MLM...actually still do...
Been there, done that, never liked it or had any success at it because of the way you had to market i.e. friends, family, buy leads and cold call, 3 foot rule Yuck!
I've been an entrepreneur and marketer for over 20 years...and wasn't even looking for anything, and fell into one that has changed my mind big time (Not MLM, now called Direct Sales/Network Marketing because of the high ticket item $3K, and $1K commissions on two tiers)
Which has attracted "Real Marketers" because of the results that the system is getting, and having a product that people drool over ...which is key...
The system is converting and duplicating like wildfire...because the owner made millions using it before he brought it public...
My marketing partners are making $50-100K per month from the first month...
He spent $20K per page in copywriting, and has a $50 funded proposal up front that weeds the freebie people and tire kickers out, so you know who is serious...
But the beauty of the system is that not only does it convert around 20-40% opt ins, 5-7% of those pay the application fee, and of those, 20-50% buy the $3K product...all without having to talk to anyone...
And It has completely eliminated the #1 reason people fail, mainly people get in their own way and don't know how to sell, communicate, close etc...which no one wants to do anyway, so now everyone using this system is on equal ground...
But back to point of your original question about the backend tracking...
this is a marketers dream because it tracks every single campaign that you create, and you can see every move of the prospects from opt in, to looking at the sales page, to filling out the paid $50 credit app, to paid survey, to looking at the final presentation page all the way to sale...
And there is a built in autoresponder system, and you can also do broadcast emails and boive blasts, to your opt ins, and see how many open the emails, and how many click...just like in aweber and elsewhere...
It's pretty amazing...again, I think it is because it was built by real marketers, not just some MLM company who uses old school technology...
You literally never have to pick up the phone here..and this is not for a $20 commission...we're talking $1K a pop on two levels and beyond...
So I have changed my outlook and to me having this in the additional stream category is great...the residual income is huge because of the success that regular people have, and the details of the comp plan..
The big marketers with a list, come on board here, and can blast out 30-60 sales at a crack which is $30-60K in commissions...that's how well it converts...especially coming from a list recommendation...
So I've never seen anything like this in that industry before...and it's pretty darn fun when you get an email that says commission earned for $1K while you are sleeping...
Anyway, I am in the top producing team as well...filled with top marketers...
I believe that stompernet, Mike Koenigs, and even Frank Kern have been around this playing around...

Because I didn't know how to handle that sort of income I blew that one! 5 years ago I joined what was then a small British company.
The product was a syndicate management system for the UK and Euro Millions Lottery. That exploded, the company is still going strong, we have 150,000 paying members world wide, and my wife and I are now semi retired in Tennessee, in the US, so that we can be close to our Grandkids.
Great story so far, an MLM that stays around, and a great product that is simple and easy to promote online.
End of story? Well, no.
True to the founders nature, (I now them personally and trust them implicitely) they haven't stood still and have just launched what I believe will be the best opportunity to make money in MLM for years.

have been with 3 MLM companies and looked at others, while I believe it a great model I feel peoples greed turn them into Pyramid scheemes and it seems to succeed you have to change into a sales driven machine worse than the stereotyped used car salesman Thou if your loking for a ground floor opportunity in the US, Bel'Air might be something you want to consider.

MLMs look great from the outside...BUT
They only work if you're standing at the top of the first "M".
Otherwise, you're just standing on the hopes and dreams of the downline - and crushing them.
Never seen the model fail - originators and their pals make tons of $$$ (which they spend on toys and houses only to lose it all in the divorce), while the downline keeps buying more and more and don't seem to understand why no one else they know 'gets it'.
Affiliate marketing is about the only way to share in someone else's success, in balance to your own efforts. Doesn't cost anything/much to get started either.
Just some thoughts from a country boy who thinks you're doing a great job (and you're cute, too).

I've been in to mlm for about 4 years now... and i really didn't start making any REAL money until I started learning how to market online (thanks for the pointers btw...)
MLM is a waste of time for most people that are still using the old methods to build a customer base and a team of business builders..
Most people hate MLM because they view it as taking advantage of friends and family, 'preying' on people, or similar. But when you are actually marketing to people that WANT to start a business, and you're actually giving them the resources to be able to market just like you - you're actually giving them training on a tangible skill - internet marketing...
I find it kind of hypocritical for an affiliate marketer to hate mlm... they are so similar! You just get paid on more level than just 1!

I much prefer the direct sales model in home business versus the traditional MLM.
The bottom line is that I want to be paid a large commission "today" not have a little money today for the reward of a huge residual in the future (which is the standard pitch of MLM companies)
I have since switching to the direct sales model in 2005 made millions of dollars in sales and continue to work with my current home business Lifepath to bring in a high multiple six figure income per year.
The best part is unlike most direct sales comp plans, there is no passup sales on the first level, there is a strong residual income with a true exit strategy meaning yes you can eventually stop working and still make money, and lastly the products are stellar and come with a money back guarantee - this makes selling it easy.
Also in terms of watching your stats - I have to say the reason I have been so successful is that I learned to use internet marketing tactics to build my business, so no calling leads or talking to friends and family and no use of replicated sites.
In fact, Mike Dillard featured me in his ebook because of my marketing and this is what I teach all the people I work with.
