For my target keyphrase on Google.com I'm up from #10 to #5. I haven't made any backlinks elsewhere as part of the experiment. Looks like it works!
It'll be interesting to see if it maintains position over the next week or two. Who knows, with any luck it'll continue to improve and head for number #1. :) Cheers.

Re: #?? In Google In 3 Days!

@Steve - Yes, that keyword is probably a bit ambitious to start with - for any link building campaign. Look for a long tail keyword without so much competition that still contains the main keyphrase you want to rank for one day.

I.E. the keyword you'd *really* like is "apple iphone" - a more attainable keyphrase could be "custom apple iphone hacks." That second phrase still contains your main keyword phrase, so you're gaining rank for it while actually working with a phrase you have a chance at, initially.

(That's an example, I didn't check the numbers on it, obviously).

Re: #?? Your site has been around for 2 years! Shouldn't you be at least in the tens of thousands by now?

Also, while Ray's comment was out of line, he makes a good point. I noticed in your affiliate video that you did "cool tattoos" in quotes, something 99% of Google searchers aren't going to do...for 'cool tattoos' without quotes it's a whole different story.

Please address the above as I do think your backlinking scheme is quite brilliant, but it's kind of a red flag when you're not using this scheme on your own blog, right?

Re: #?? Of course, I don't know what Google will do in the future, but so far, so good.

They way 30Minutebacklinks builds links is completely natural and accepted practice, so I think that helps.

I ALWAYS suggest that one get links from as many sources as possible though. However - Don't you think that it's a little pre-mature to lead people to think that google is done dancing around your new site?

Re: #?? This is the FIRST comment I've ever placed on your site - so be warned - I'm am BLUNTLY HONEST!!

So hold on to your chair...

I watched your video. Ranking in 3 days, eh? Ok. Let's see about that, shall we???

So I go to Google (US version, not Canada) and enter the same keyword you did: tatting patterns; no quotes.

Sure enough, your site is there, at #6.

But what's this. 36,000 piddly-ass websites? Without quotes!!??

That's NOTHING! A *monkey* could rank on the first page, of a crappy keyword with so little competition... that UNQUOTED, it's only got 36,000 "competitors"!

Alright then. Let's REALLY put this girl "in her place". Let's try running her keyword WITH QUOTES - and when it comes up with a pathetic 500 websites - I can really go after her!

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!

So I enter into Google-US, the same keyword you did: tatting patterns; but WITH quotes.

Uh oh. What's this?? 55,000 websites???

YIKES! That's SERIOUS "competition". It's DAMN TOUGH to rank for a keyword, with 55,000 QUOTED competitors!!

But wait! I'll bet she's now #205 or something - now that I'm only listing quoted "direct" Google-matching sites.

It's 6am here on the East Coast (about 1.5 hours after you posted this video), and it'll probably take me all night - but when I find her at #205 - I can really go after her!

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!

Uh oh. What's this?? NUMBER FOUR!!???

She's ranking FRICKIN' FOURTH, after THREE DAYS, for a keyphrase with FIFTY-FIVE THOUSAND quoted competitors?????

Doh!

I JUST HUMILIATED MYSELF!!!

Michelle... Michelle... can you ever forgive me for doubting you?
[Sound of male bodybuilder, bowing down and kissing the toes, of skinny little girl...]

Ray the Canuck

P.S. And uh... Michelle?
